METCO was tasked by SFWMD to provide Engineering Services which focused on improving the ability to control and monitor the pump station from the remote location with enhanced reliability and operational flexibility.

METCO was tasked to provide Design and Construction Engineering Services for the following major project elements to their Pump Station S-331:

• Replace the existing 255 hp diesel engines for all three (3) main pumps with new environmentally compliant electronically controlled engines.
• Refurbish of the existing right-angle speed reducers on all three (3) main pumps.
• Convert the existing stuffing box with a split-face mechanical seal arrangement on all three (3) main pumps.
• Replace the existing engine control panels with new panels.
• Design to upgrade the existing power and control wiring for all pumps to comply with the Code and District requirements.
• Design new Station Control Panel and integrate into the Regional Command and Control Center system for remote operation of the pumps.
